Can I order a whole cake for a party/event/celebration?

Yes, you can. For whole cake orders, please email me at batikandbaker@gmail.com and include your pickup date, number of guests, any cake/flavor preferences and allergies. I will reply within 24-48 hours. Please reach out at least 2-3 weeks before your event.

What size cakes do you offer? How many people does it serve?

Unless specified, all cakes are 6-inch cakes and are perfect for 6-10 people. Larger cakes are available upon request.

Where do I pick up my order?

Pickup can be from Batik And Baker’s Oakland kitchen at 75 Chadbourne Way, Oakland, CA. If you are picking up on a Saturday, you can also pickup at an upcoming pop-up location.

Do you cater desserts for events?

Yes, I offer small-batch dessert catering for events with up to 50-200 guests. Please reach out at least 2-3 weeks before your event. For a menu, message on Instagram or email me at batikandbaker@gmail.com.

Do you have a permanent physical location?

For now, I don’t have a permanent store but you can find me at Saturday pop-up around the Bay Area. If you enjoyed a treat and want more of it for an upcoming party or event, please contact me.

bake box questions

How do I order a bake box?

Pre-orders will go live on hotplate.com/batikandbaker. You can also signup on that page to be notified of upcoming pre-orders. Pre-orders close at midnight on Monday of pick-up week.

Where do I pick up my bake box?

All bake boxes are available for pre-order only and to be picked up from the pop-up location. You can select the pickup location when you are ordering.

Why should I pre-order?

Bake boxes are available for pre-order only. Getting a bake box guarantees that you will get everything on the bake box menu. It also helps me better manage inventory.

However, if you missed the pre-order deadline, don't fret! I'll usually have some items from the pre-order menu also available for walk-ups, as well as the Pandan Seri Muka. I do recommend coming by the pop-up early, as popular items may sell out.

Do you deliver the bake boxes?

No. Bake boxes are available for pickup only from the pop-up location.

What is included in the bake box?

Each box will have 4-5 items, enough for 1-2 people to nibble and share. The menu will be made up of treats that I'm excited to eat, bake and share. It will reflect what's in season and I always try to include Malaysian and Asian flavors that I grew up with. Everything is baked from scratch and I use organic, local and seasonal ingredients whenever available.

Can I order custom bake boxes for my party?

Yes and many people do! I’ve had people order bakes boxes that include their favorite items to share at bridal/baby showers, weddings and events. There is a minimum order and it will depend on the number of items in each box and how many bake boxes you would like to have. Please reach out at least 2-3 weeks before your event.

When is your next pop-up?

Pop-ups are usually on all Saturdays except the last Saturday of the month. Check my Instagram for pop-up calendar.

Do I need to pre-order?

You don’t have to pre-order if you want to pick up items ala carte at the pop-up. Popular items do sell out, so I would recommend coming early. However, many people do pre-order a bake box to ensure they get everything they want.
